About Priti Golechha
“I am committed to championing excellence, leading with authenticity and accountability, to create a world of equality, where everyone deserves respect and dignity.”
I was the fourth daughter to a lower-middle-class family in a small Indian town. From a very early age, I learned that as a girl in a patriarchal culture, I will not be treated as an equal without a fight. At age 6, I renamed myself from something that reminded me of the patriarchal culture and fierce “Priti” was born. So, when I chose to study medicine, I knew I would have to make my own path. In my early twenties, I immigrated to the US to move away from a surgical field, I was pressured to get in and pursued my dream career as a pediatrician. However, As I looked at the healthcare industry’s top leadership positions, I barely saw anyone like me. Undeterred, I was determined to lead and transform the healthcare system.
Today, I work as a healthcare executive. Early in my career as a healthcare leader, the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) honored my work with National level recognition and “Geiger Gibson Emerging Leader 2016”. I got myself a seat in the Room Where It Happens, but my true passion lies in opening the doors for other women. This led me to create Physician Women in Leadership, a platform, and a community that empowers female physicians through mentorship, peer education, and strategic partnerships. I also share my stories, experiences, and learnings here.
Through my work and writing, my ultimate goal is to create a legacy of transformational change for my daughters and future generations. I want them to proudly say that their mother fought for gender parity and reformed the healthcare system for the better.
